Teams are in-game groups that trainers can join after reaching level 5.

Information
Players must be at least level 5 to join a team. Tapping a gym after level 5 will allow a player to join a team.
Currently, there is no way to change alliances between teams, although there are rumors of this changing in the future.
Team members can work together to neutralize and claim enemy gyms, or level up and fortify friendly gyms.
