Rayquaza is a Dragon, Flying-type Legendary Pokémon from the Hoenn region. It doesn't evolve into nor from any other Pokémon. Along with Kyogre and Groudon, it is a member of the Weather Trio.

Rayquaza is said to have lived for hundreds of millions of years. Legends remain of how it put to rest the clash between Kyogre and Groudon.

  • As a 5th tier Raid Boss, Rayquaza's CP is 49,808. Its maximum capture CP in Bonus Challenge is 2,191 and 2,739 when encountered Pokémon is boosted by weather.
    • Rayquaza was available in Raid Battles from February 9th until March 16th, 2018.[1][2]
    • Rayquaza was available again from March 15th to March 18th, 2019 during Special Raid Weekend. However, shiny Rayquaza is not released.[3]
    • Rayquaza is available again from July 31st to September 2nd, 2019.[4]
  • Shiny form of Rayquaza was released on July 31st, 2019.
  • In the Shiny Rayquaza promotional image, there are three traditional Chinese characters in calligraphical style. The large one behind Shiny Rayquaza means "black", while the two small ones on the side mean "descent" or "arrival".
