Not to be confused with Special Raid Event, which is an event format with no additional Raid Passes.
Raid Day (originally known as Special Raid Challenge) is a special event that is hosted during a three- or six-hour window and features a Pokémon as Raid Boss with rotation of 30-minute. This Pokémon have a chance to be shiny (evolved stages included) and may know one or more exclusive attacks. All Trainers will also receive up to five Raid Passes from Gyms at no cost. Gyms will stop other raids from happening roughly two hours before the start of event.
