Power Spots are points of interest found throughout the world. They are where Max Battles take place and where wild Dynamax Pokémon can be caught.[1]
Details[]
Power Spots are a special point of interest separate from PokéStops and Gyms. They appear randomly around the world and last for a certain time before disappearing, usually lasting for three days.
Each Power Spot can be interacted with once per day, with the day resetting at 5 a.m. local time. Interacting with each individual Power Spot gives 120 Max Particles on the first day and 100 MP on all subsequent days. If a certain Power Spot re-appears after it disappears, the first new interaction with it will still award 120 MP.
Power Spots host Max Battles, where Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon can be fought.
Placing Pokémon at Power Spots[]
After completing a Max Battle, a Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokémon from the used battle party can be placed at the Power Spot to help others defeat the Max Battle and earn Candy and Candy XL. A maximum of 40 Pokémon can be placed at a Power Spot.
Power boost[]
Once enough Pokémon are placed at the Power Spot, a damage bonus is awarded to all future participants of Max Battles at that Power Spot.[2][3]
Pokémon at Power Spot | Damage bonus |
---|---|
1 | +10% |
2-3 | +15% |
4-14 | +18.8% |
15+ | +20% |
Rewards[]
The number of Max Battles the placed Pokémon helps out in determines the number of Candy received when the Pokémon is recalled. It is currently unknown what causes Candy XL to be awarded.[4]
Max Battles helped with | Candy awarded |
---|---|
1 | 2 |
2 | 3 |
3+ | 5 |
Pokémon spawns at Power Spots[]
Pokémon may occasionally spawn at a Power Spot. These spawns will have pink/crimson rings around them in the overworld. An available spawn is denoted when the help icon at the bottom-left corner of the Power Spot screen changes to the wild encounter symbol. These spawns will have a Power Spot icon on their catch screen and the background scenery will change to the interior of the Power Spot.
Power Spots have their own spawn pool of Pokémon. Spawns are unique per player. When one or more Gigantamax Pokémon are placed at the Power Spot, Dynamax Pokémon are added to the pool of available spawns.[5]
