However, it doesn't work to display Pokémon family if there is no Pokémon present in collection which name is used to search even though there is present another member of its family. For example, using
+pichu
when there is only Pikachu and Raichu in player's Pokémon collection won't return any Pikachu nor Raichu.
+
This method also works for a Pokémon family you're currently missing a stage of. For example, searching
+wartortle
when you don't have one will still show your collection of Squirtle and Blastoise.

Search Icon

Pokémon search is a feature on the page with Pokémon collection that allows a Trainer to create a filtered view of their Pokémon. This feature was introduced in update to version 0.67.1.[1] All search terms are case-insensitive and spacing is not necessary.

Filtering by name

Filtering by name works just the same as a normal text search. It returns Pokémon whose name matches the query. This search does not search sub-strings, so the first part of the name must be supplied. This feature supports ASCII and Unicode input. Searching by a Pokémon species name ignores nicknames.

Example

Term Result
MyTyranitar Returns a Pokémon named "MyTyranitar"
Tyranitar Returns all Tyranitar

Filtering by type

Pokémon can be filtered by their types by adding their type to the search bar. Multiple Types can be queried at a time by using one or more of the supported separators – colon (:), semi-colon (;), comma (,), or an ampersand (&). The latter was introduced in version 0.69.1.[2]

Example

Term Result
fire Returns all Fire-types in the Pokémon list
fire, ground Returns all Fire-types and all Ground-types
fire & flying Returns all Pokémon that are dual-type Fire/Flying

Filtering by species

Pokémon that belong to a particular species group can be filtered by searching the species name and placing a plus sign (+) before it.

Example

Term Result
+bulbasaur Returns all Bulbasaurs, Ivysaurs and Venusaurs in the Pokémon list

This method also works for a Pokémon family you're currently missing a stage of. For example, searching +wartortle when you don't have one will still show your collection of Squirtle and Blastoise.

Filtering by criteria

Example

Term Result Version
@weather Returns all Pokémon boosted by current weather conditions 0.89.1[3]

Filtering by attack

Pokémon with a particular attack or attack type can be filtered by using the at-sign (@).

When filtering by attack type, if a number (1, 2, or 3) is placed between the @ and the type, it will search for Pokémon with an attack that matches the type for that slot.

 1. Fast Attack
 2. Charged Attack
 3. Secondary Charged Attack

Example

Term Result Version
@crunch Returns all Pokémon with the move Crunch 0.73.1[4]
@dark Returns all Pokémon with a Dark-type attack 0.73.1[4]
@1psychic Returns all Pokémon with a Psychic-type fast attack
@2dragon&@3flying Returns all Pokémon with a Dragon-type charged attack and a secondary Flying-type charged attack
@1rock&@2rock,@3dark Returns all Pokémon with a Rock-type fast attack and either a Rock-type charged attack or a secondary Dark-type charged attack
@move Returns all Pokémon that have not learned a secondary charged attack 0.137.2[5]
!@move Returns all Pokémon who have learned a secondary charged attack 0.137.2[5]
@special Returns all Pokémon with a legacy move (includes Return and Frustration) 0.157.0[6]

Filtering by Pokédex number

Pokémon can be filtered by their Pokédex number by entering a search range.

Example

Term Result
248 Returns all Tyranitars
200–248 Returns all Pokémon with a Pokédex number between 200 and 248

Filtering by CP and HP

Pokémon can be filtered similar to the way they can be searched by Pokédex number. The only difference is by adding "cp" in the front of the range to search for Pokémon by CP and "hp" in front to search for Pokémon by HP.

Example

Term Result
cp2000-3000 Returns all Pokémon with CP between 2,000 and 3,000
hp200-300 Returns all Pokémon with HP between 200 and 300

Filtering by IVs

Pokémon can be filtered by the percentile group of their Individual Values. This feature was added in version 0.149.0.[7]

Example

Term Result
0* Returns all Pokémon with IVs between 0 – 49%
1* Returns all Pokémon with IVs between 51.1 – 64.4%
2* Returns all Pokémon with IVs between 66.7 – 80.0%

distance1000- Returns all Pokémon caught or hatched 1,000 meters—or less—away from Trainer's current location

Filtering by caught days

Pokémon can be filtered by caught days. This feature was added in version 0.169.0.[9] This filter is very similar to the Combat Power filter.

Trivia

 • Prior to version 0.137.1, the "evolve" keyword would not return Pokémon that required an Evolution Item to evolve.
 • The "defender" keyword was one of the most requested keywords prior to its inclusion in version 0.75.0.[27]
 • The keyword for filtering Pokémon that require an item to evolve was originally "withitem", but was later changed to simply "item".[28]
 • The keyword for filtering Pokémon that can only be hatched from eggs e.g. Baby Pokémon was originally "baby", but was later changed to simply "eggsonly".[29]
 • The search "shadow" and "purified" terms were removed in 0.157.0, but later added back in.
