Pokémon Playground is an AR feature that allows Trainers to place Pokémon at specific PokéStops in order to take photos with those Pokémon.[1]

Details[]

PokéStops hosting a Pokémon Playground will have a special icon in the bottom-right corner of the PokéStop details page. Tapping on the icon will initiate a PokéStop scan. After the scan, any Pokémon placed at the Pokémon Playground will appear in AR in the device's camera.

Trainers can place Pokémon at the Pokémon Playground by tapping the Poké Ball icon in the bottom-left corner of the camera screen. A Trainer may add up to 3 Pokémon at a time to a Pokémon Playground. A maximum of 7 Pokémon may be placed at the Pokémon Playground. If the limit is exceeded, the Pokémon placed there the longest will be returned to their Trainer.

After placing Pokémon, photos may be taken with all of the Pokémon currently at the Pokémon Playground.

Pokémon will automatically return from the Pokémon Playground after 48 hours. They may also be manually recalled at any time via tapping the recall button on the Pokémon details page.

Pokémon placed at Pokémon Playgrounds cannot be used for Trainer Battles, Team GO Rocket Battles, Raid Battle, and Max Battles, or be traded.
