Pokémon GO Tour: Johto was an event in Pokémon GO to celebrate the Johto region.[1][2][3][4] Trainers can experience additional features-Gold or Silver version of the event after purchasing the US$ 11.99 ticket.

Special Research[]
Ticket holders who played the game during the event were granted the Pokémon GO Tour: Johto Special Research. Completing its tasks rewards an encounter with a Shiny Gyarados, an encounter with a Celebi that knows the move Magical Leaf, and access to the Masterwork Research: Apex Special Research. Completing the Apex research rewards encounters with Apex Shadow Lugia and Apex Shadow Ho-Oh.
Collection Challenges[]
To complete the Collection Challenge, Trainer must obtain these Pokémon before February 26th, 2022 at 8:59 p.m (local time). Trading and Evolution were available for two more hours than others.[5]
Gold Version players could catch this on Incense. Silver Version players require trading to obtain the Pokémon. Incense and Ultra Ball were rewards for Incense version. Lucky Egg and Golden Razz Berry were rewards for Trade version.

The event was divided into five different location-themed hour blocks, during which Pokémon from the corresponding Collection Challenge would appear in the wild. The last two hours of the event (7 p.m. to 9 p.m.) included all Pokémon from the prior hours.

These Raid Bosses were available during the event. All Raid Eggs only took 5 minutes to hatch, and the Raid time was 25 minutes.
Exclusive move[]
In order to obtain Aeroblast or Sacred Fire Trainers had to catch Lugia or Ho-Oh respectively during the event. In order to obtain Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn, Hydro Cannon, Dragon Pulse, Acrobatics, Last Resort on Eeveelutions, Smack Down or Ancient Power, Trainers had to evolve Bayleef, Quilava, Croconaw, Flaaffy, Skiploom, Eevee, Pupitar or Swinub into Meganium, Typhlosion, Feraligatr, Ampharos, Jumpluff, Espeon or Umbreon, Tyranitar or Mamoswine. Trainers cannot use TMs to obtain the attacks.

Raikou, Entei, and Suicune Photo Safari Timed Research was available during the event:
Pokémon GO Tour: Johto Battle Challenge Timed Research was available during the event. The battle and encounter rewarded in part 10 depends on the player's team: Spark and Raikou for Instinct, Candela and Entei for Valor, and Blanche and Suicune for Mystic. It became a Special Research instead once reached part 11.

During the event, eight Trainer characters named the GO Gym Trainers were available in-game at PokéStops to battle. They had a theme for their teams and were chosen by a contest held by Niantic.[6] Several Poké Balls and Berries would be rewarded if the player defeated them.

Pokémon GO Tour: Live[]
Pokémon GO Tour: Live was a set of in-person events happening in multiple cities across the globe in the day after Pokémon GO Tour: Johto. The event happened in Monterrey, Mexico at Parque Fundidora and Kaohsiung, Taiwan at the Taiwan Lantern Festival.[7] The event was canceled in Yas Bay, Abu Dhabi due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[8]. A US$25.00 ticket is necessary for some exclusive features.
