The Pokémon GO Safari Zone is a recurring, ticketed, regional, real-world event that occurs in various locations across the world, typically inside of parks.[1] It has been hosted throughout various countries within the Americas, Europe and Asia such as France, Sweden, Germany, Brazil, Denmark, Spain, Japan and Taiwan.
The common feature of Safari Zone events is that they give Trainers the possibility to catch region-exclusive Pokémon that are not "native" for region where the event is hosted. Additionally, there are Lure Modules installed in vast number of PokéStops in the event area and increased spawn rates of selected Pokémon and Unown. Moreover, participants of Safari Zones have increased chance to encounter shiny variants of featured Pokémon.
Pokémon GO City Safari[]

In 2023, a new format of Safari Zone named Pokémon GO City Safari was introduced. Instead of exploring a specific location inside of the relevant city, the new safari format enables the Trainer to explore the entire hosting city.
The new city format is based on the Pokémon GO City Spotlight event.
