The Pokémon GO Championship Series are annual series of several tie-in regional events for the real-world regional and international competitions featuring the several products from The Pokémon Company. The annual real-world competitions culminate in the Pokémon World Championships.
In Pokémon GO, there were tie-in events for the World Championships from 2017 to 2019. There was no Pokémon GO tie-in events in 2020 and 2021, possibly due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since 2022, there are tie-in events for regional and international competitions and World Championships.

Pokémon GO World Championships[]
Since 2022, Trainers are able to participate in the Pokémon GO Championship Series: live, in-person Pokémon GO competitions, including regional and international championships. Top Trainers earn invitations to the Pokémon World Championships. The format for the competitions is Great League.

MEWeedle 2022 Senior Champion

DancingRob 2022 Master Champion
In 2022, Senior and Master divisions were available. Trainers had to register for Pokémon GO Championship Series events via a two-phase registration window: Early Registration, for players who achieve Legend Rank in a GO Battle League; and Open Registration for remaining spots.[1] Top Pokémon GO players at regional and international events won an invitation to the 2022 Pokémon World Championships.[2] Maxwell MEWeedle Ember of Switzerland became the World Champion of Senior division.

ItsAXN 2023 Champion
In 2023, only one age division was available. Pokémon GO featured at select events, including Pokémon GO Challenges, Special Events, Regional and International Championships. Top Pokémon GO players at these events won an invitation to the 2023 Pokémon World Championships.[3] Payden ItsAXN Bingham became the new Pokémon GO World Champion. The Everyone Starts Somewhere Timed Research features ItsAXN's team.
