Max Particles, also called MP, are a consumable, Pokémon and Max Battle-related resource that can be used to enter Max Battles and to power up Max Moves of Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon. A maximum of 1,000 MP can be stored at once. If MP gained would exceed that limit, the full amount of MP is still received. Once 800 or more MP has been obtained in one day, no more can be obtained for that day.[1]
Sources[]
Max Particles are acquired by:

- Walking 2 km, then claiming 300 MP from the Power Spot tab in the Nearby Screen
- Rewards from Special Research
- Using a item worth 800 MP , a consumable

Max Battles[]
- Main article: Max Battle
Max Particles are required to enter Max Battles. Max Particles are only consumed if the Max Battle is won. The amount of MP used depends on the level of the Max Battle.
Unlocking and Upgrading Max Moves[]
- Main article: Max Moves
Max Particles can be used to unlock and upgrade Max Moves of Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon. The amount of MP needed depends on the level being upgraded to and the specific Pokémon species. All Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon start with their Max Attack unlocked at Level 1.
Trivia[]
- The first time the 1,000 MP is collected, an encounter with a Dynamax Wooloo is triggered.
- On the Power Spot tab in the Nearby Screen, tapping on the icon with your current amount of MP will display a pop-up notification telling you how much more MP you can collect for the day. The amount listed is how much more you need before you go over the 800 MP daily limit.
