A Lure Module is an item that trainers can use on any PokéStop to attract more wild Pokémon to appear near it. It acts similar an Incense, which spawns more Pokémon near the player opposed to the PokéStop.
A Lure Module can be activated on a PokéStop by tapping on the small pink Lure button above the large spinnable blue circle of any PokéStop screen. This will cause pink flower petals to swirl around the PokéStop, which can be seen by Trainers to whom the Stop is visible in Map View. Lure Modules last for 30 minutes by default. Pokémon spawned by a Lure Module appear for all Trainers who are within range of the Stop. Lured Pokémon have a special swirling petal ring around them.
Aside the standard Lure Module, there are four special Lure Modules that attract specific Types of Pokémon. These special Lure Modules also allow certain Pokémon to evolve when in the vicinity of the Lured PokéStop. There is also a fifth special Lure Module, the Golden Lure Module, that can attract Roaming Form Gimmighoul.
Lure Modules can be purchased from the Shop. Normal Lure Modules are awarded for reaching certain Levels. Lure Modules of all types (except Golden Lure Modules) can also be rewards from Research Tasks and PokéStop Showcases.
