During this event five selected Pokémon spawned more often in the wild and Trainers were rewarded with bonus Stardust for capturing them.[1]

Moreover, these Shiny Pokémon were released with the start of the event.

  • 2018, the Year of the Dog was celebrated by featuring Pokémon that resembled real-life canines. [2]
    • For some unknown reason Houndour wasn't featured in this event, despite its resemblance to a canine.
