In 2021, 48 new Pokémon species, 74 distinct regular forms, 8 Mega Evolutions and 99 shiny forms were made available to be obtained.

The following Medals became achievable for the first time:

Silver and Gold Kalos Medal.
Bronze Galar Medal.

All Shiny forms of Kanto-region Pokémon were released, becoming the first region to be possible to complete the Shiny Pokédex.

The total number of Pokémon species and Pokémon distinct forms (regular and shiny) was updated according to the following events in 2021:

On June 4^th 2021, Galarian Slowking was added to game files, rising up Johto-region Pokédex to 129 distinct forms.^[1]
