In 2020, 113 new Pokémon species, 129 distinct regular forms, 9 Mega Evolutions and 138 shiny forms were made available to be obtained.
The following Medals became achievable for the first time: Platinum Kanto Medal. Platinum Johto Medal. Gold Unova Medal. Bronze Kalos Medal. Bronze Mega Evolution Guru Medal.
The total number of Pokémon species and Pokémon distinct forms (regular and shiny) was updated according to the following events in 2020: On June 3rd 2020, more Galar-region forms were added to game files (Meowth, Farfetch'd, Darumaka, Standard and Zen Darmanitan and Stunfisk), rising up Kanto-region Pokédex to 172 distinct forms and Unova-region Pokédex to 179 distinct forms. Also Galar-region introduced 3 new Pokémon species and distinct forms.
