Legendary Raid Hour

Legendary Raid Hour (originally known as Legendary Lunch Hour) is a weekly event that turns every available Gym to a specific tier 5 Legendary Pokémon, Mythical Pokémon or Ultra Beast Raid Boss for one hour. It occurs every Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time. It occasionally occurs on other days of the week as well. Since February 19^th, 2024, Raid Hour cycles two rotation with 25-minute each.^[1] Unlike Raid Day, no additional free Raid Passes are given.

Trivia[]

If the boss rotation occurs on Wednesday, the Legendary Raid Hour will be skipped. Examples include July 10^th and 31^st, 2019.
- It seems that Niantic is aware of this. No raid boss rotation has occurred on Wednesday afterwards until the rotation starts being based on local time rather than 1 p.m. PST.
Before the two-rotation update, Eggs start to appear in Gym 20 minutes before the Raid Hour if the Gym is not occupied by other Raid Battles.
The Mewtwo Raid Hour on September 18^th, 2019 was canceled due to technical issues.^[16] Niantic later announced the make-up Mewtwo Day will be held on October 8^th with move Psystrike.^[17] Two additional free Raid Passes could be received during the hour.^[18]
Legendary Raid Hours on March 4^th, 11^th and 18^th, 2020 were canceled in Japan, South Korea and Italy due to the COVID-19 pandemic.^[19]
- Due to the same pandemic, Legendary Raid Hour was canceled worldwide from March 18^th^[20] until May 6^th^[21].
The Kyogre Raid Hour on June 1^st, 2022 was affected with technical issues. A make-up event was made on June 10^th in GMT +14 to +2.^[22]
