Field Research event tasks[]
Special Research[]
Quality Quills Special Research was available during the event. The Chesnaught in this research would know Frenzy Plant if it was caught during event hours.
- Hey there, TRAINER! Watch your step, there are—ow—broken rocks all over today.
- I’ve been too occupied sweeping them up to find the cause, so I’m hoping you can help me figure out where they’ve come from. As with most odd occurrences, I suspect a Pokémon may be behind this.
- Speaking of odd occurrences, I saw a shooting star last night! There’ve been more and more of them lately—always beautiful sights. Maybe some of these rocks are bits of meteor!
- Anyway, I won’t keep you, TRAINER. Go see what Pokémon are out today, and think about which ones might be inclined to shatter rocks.
- Welcome back, TRAINER! Judging by the Pokémon you’ve caught, I’m guessing you think Chespin’s the cause of the broken rocks.
- You know what they say: “If the shell fits!” You know, when Chespin flex the quills on their heads, the points become so hard and sharp that they can pierce rock.
- Pretty impressive, considering that the quills are usually soft.
- And speaking of the wooden shell on its head—that thing’s so thick that even a direct hit from a truck wouldn't faze Chespin!
- Luckily for us, they’re good-natured Pokémon...even if they might have been having some fun with the local boulders. Help Chespin evolve and I’ll tell you more, TRAINER!
- Well done! That’s a strong-looking Quilladin, TRAINER!
- See how the shape of its shell has changed? It relies on that sturdy shell to deflect predators’ attacks, and then counterattacks with sharp quills.
- Even so, they are very kind and won’t start fights.
- It’s a quality that I imagine makes them ideal first partner Pokémon for Trainers starting out in the Kalos region—where Chespin, Quilladin, and Chesnaught were first discovered!
- Speaking of Chesnaught, how about you help Quilladin evolve so we can observe one ourselves?
- Now that is one fine-looking Chesnaught, TRAINER! Great job!
- Those quills on its back are bigger than ever, and when it takes a defensive posture with its fists guarding its face, it could withstand a bomb blast.
- But just like Quilladin, this strapping Pokémon has a heart of gold. It will even shield its allies from danger with its own body.
- Now that’s what I call a reliable partner!
- And I know you’ll look after Chesnaught in turn. That’s just the kind of Trainer you are, TRAINER.
- Thanks for spending another exciting day researching Pokémon with me! I’ll be in touch soon!
