Grass Weekend was a unique event in Pokémon GO that began on May 5, 2017 and lasted only for a weekend. This event celebrated the transition to Spring in the Northern Hemisphere.

To celebrate Spring and the blooming of flowers, Grass-type Pokémon appeared more frequently. Lure Modules also lasted a full six hours.[1][2][3]
These Grass-type Pokémon were appearing in the wild more often than usual, during the event.
