Gigantamax

Gigantamax is a special type of Dynamax that specific Pokémon can undergo. Gigantamax Pokémon gain an altered appearance and access to a special Max Move called a G-Max Move.^[1]

Pokémon that have the ability to Gigantamax can be encountered from six-star Max Battles. They are denoted in the Pokémon collection page via a Gigantamax icon. Only these specific individuals are capable of Gigantamaxing; for example, a Dynamax Charizard cannot Gigantamax into Gigantamax Charizard, it can only Dynamax into Dynamax Charizard. Gigantamaxing can only be performed in Max Battles.

While Gigantamaxed, Gigantamax Pokémon gain access to a special G-Max Move. Each different species has their own unique G-Max Move. Unlike Dynamax Pokémon, the G-Max Move will always be set for a given Gigantamax species regardless of the type of their current Fast Attack.

Gigantamax Pokémon left at Power Spots can cause wild Dynamax Pokémon to spawn at the Power Spot.

Gigantamax Pokémon cannot currently be transferred to Pokémon HOME. Gigantamax Pokémon count towards a Special Trade.
