GO Beyond is the title given to the Pokémon GO's huge update released worldwide on November 30th, 2020. It brings several revamping changes to the game, such as, level cap increase, Kalos-region release and introduction to Seasons.[1]
Level cap increase and Candy XL were first live for select Trainers in Australia and New Zealand on November 18th, 2020. Testing phase of trainer experience adjustment was also active for them from November 9th to 16th.[2]
Level cap increased to 50[]
Ten new Trainer levels is available to be achieved.[3] More XP is given from many in-game actions.
Trainers who reach level 40 before December 31st, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. local time will earn the medal of Legacy 40 Trainer and a Timed Research that rewards an exclusive Gyarados Hat avatar item.
Double catch XP is active from November 18th 1 p.m. (PST) to December 31st, 2020 (local time) to help Trainers level up.

Candy XL[]

Trainers can power up their Pokémon to above level 40 by using Candy XL. These Candies can be acquired either by catching, transferring and hatching Pokémon or by converting and combining Candy into Candy XL.
Platinum medals[]
A new tier of medals - platinum, has made available with GO Beyond.
Seasons[]

Pokémon GO will change with the Seasons.[4] Every three months, a new Season in Pokémon GO will bring major changes.
The launch of Season includes an events: Season of Celebration. The first part is to introduce Pokémon from Kalos regions.[5]
12 Days of Friendship[]

An event focusing in friendship was released to celebrate the announcement of the update.[6]

- Increased effectiveness of Berries
- Improved "level up" rate of Buddy Adventure
- Gible replaces Larvitar as the reward of "Make 3 Excellent Throws in a row"
- Increased chance of Smeargle encounter
- Feeding Pokémon at Gym gives 30 Stardust instead of 20
- Increased Stardust from Adventure Sync rewards
