  • Welcome to Pokémon GO Fest 2021, TRAINER! Everyone seems pretty excited for this year’s event—Trainers and Pokémon alike!
  • Isn’t it lovely that when we have a good time, our Pokémon do, too? The good vibes go round and round.
  • Now that you’re here, I actually have an important job I need your help with. Pardon the short notice, but I think you’ll really enjoy it!
  • What you see around you is the makings of a music festival. We’re still getting things set up, but that’ll speed up a bit now that the show’s director is here—that’s you!
  • I’ve got some things to prep before you get started, so why not take your buddy out for a stroll and enjoy the festivities for a while? You might even make a few more Pokémon friends along the way.
2nd Part
Professor Willow icon
  • The theme of this year’s Pokémon GO Fest is music, so let’s try our best to put on a good show! The team leaders are hard at work setting up a top-class stage.
  • With a director like you, I know we’re in for a performance we won’t soon forget.
  • But for that, you’ll need a talented act! And with that in mind, there’s a certain Pikachu backstage that’s buzzing to meet you.
  • It’s got makeup and wardrobe standing by to help tailor its look to match your vision for the festival. Do you think you’d rather put on a rock show or a pop show?
  • Pikachu’s ready to dazzle either way, so it’s really up to you! For now, I’d suggest you go for a stroll and give your decision some thought. Maybe you could pick a genre that matches one of your favorite songs?
3rd Part
Professor Willow icon

Pikachu Pop Star

  • Fabulous choice, TRAINER! The glitter, the glam—Pikachu looks ready to electrify the crowd!

Pikachu Rock Star

  • Rockin’ choice, TRAINER! You know, there was a time when I dreamed of being in a rock band myself—but that’s a story for another time.
4th Part
Professor Willow icon

Pikachu Pop Star

  • There’s still lots of prep to take care of before the show, though.
  • Blanche is overseeing rehearsal, so let’s leave Pikachu to help out.
  • In the meantime, we need to find Pikachu some accompaniment.
  • While concert prep continues, think about which Pokémon you’d like backing up Pikachu on stage. I can’t wait to see your vision come to life!

Pikachu Rock Star

  • Now that you’ve chosen a theme for the show, Pikachu’s got a lot of prep to do before it takes the stage.
  • Blanche is overseeing rehearsal, so let’s leave Pikachu to help out. In the meantime, we need to find Pikachu some accompaniment.
  • I’ve already scouted a couple promising candidates: Galarian Ponyta and Galarian Zigzagoon. They’re both sporting festive headwear, so you really can’t go wrong!
  • While concert prep continues, think about which Pokémon you’d like backing up Pikachu on stage. I can’t wait to see your vision come to life!
5th Part
Professor Willow icon

Pikachu Pop Star and Ponyta

  • Its cute presence is a great addition to Pikachu’s pop-star energy.

Pikachu Pop Star and Zigzagoon

  • Galarian Zigzagoon it is! A fierce choice. I’ll let the team leaders know so they can start getting everything in place for the show.
  • Did you know that Galarian Zigzagoon tends to be incredibly restless? That kind of boundless energy is sure to bring an exciting edge to the show!
  • A Pikachu onstage with a Galarian Zigzagoon sounds like a really fun show!

Pikachu Rock Star and Ponyta

  • Galarian Ponyta, eh? Wonderful choice, TRAINER! I’ll let the team leaders know so they can start getting everything in place for the show.
  • Galarian Ponyta is known to look into your eyes and read the contents of your heart. If it finds evil there, it promptly hides away.
  • A calming presence like that is a great complement to Pikachu’s electric energy. Rock on!

Pikachu Rock Star and Zigzagoon

  • Galarian Zigzagoon it is! I’ll let the team leaders know so they can start getting everything in place for the show.
  • Did you know that Galarian Zigzagoon tends to be incredibly restless? That kind of energy is sure to keep the atmosphere rockin’!
  • I can’t wait to hear Pikachu and Galarian Zigzagoon bring the house down!
6th Part
Professor Willow icon

Pikachu Pop Star and Ponyta

  • But before all that, I’d say Pikachu and Galarian Ponyta are going to need one last member to fill out the band.

Pikachu Rock Star and Ponyta

  • Spark is in charge of choreography, so we can turn our attention elsewhere for the time being.
  • When your prancing Pokémon is ready, why not take a snapshot of it to commemorate the moment? So long as it doesn’t find any evil in your heart, that is. Haha!
  • But before all that, I’d say Pikachu and Galarian Ponyta are going to need one last member to fill out the band.

Pikachu Rock Star and Zigzagoon

  • Spark is in charge of choreography, so we can turn our attention elsewhere for the time being.
  • When your zigzagging Pokémon is ready, why not take a snapshot of it to commemorate the moment? If you can get it to sit still, that is!
  • But before all that, I’d say Pikachu and Galarian Zigzagoon are going to need one last member to fill out the band.
  • Two Pokémon really wowed me during their auditions: Flygon and Gardevoir. Which do you prefer?
7th Part
Professor Willow icon

Gardevoir

  • Excellent choice, TRAINER!
  • Gardevoir is a fascinating Pokémon. Did you know it can read the future? I bet it can tell we’re about to witness a performance for the ages!

Flygon

  • Excellent choice, TRAINER!
  • Flygon has a distinct look, with red covers that shield its eyes from sand—but did you know that the flapping of its wings sounds almost like singing?
  • I can’t wait to hear what sort of dynamic it brings to the band’s sound!
8th Part
Professor Willow icon

Gardevoir

  • Gardevoir probably needs a few moments to do a sound check. Have to make sure those levels are all where they should be!
  • Why don’t you let Blanche— Oh, no.

Flygon

  • Flygon probably needs a few moments to get warmed up. Why don’t you let Blanche— Oh, no.
  • Looks like Team GO Rocket is trying to disrupt the celebrations! Must they really try to ruin everything?
  • Sorry to interrupt your preparations, Director, but it looks like we’ll be needing your battling skills today as well. Let’s power up and evolve some Pokémon to prepare!
  • We can’t let some troublemakers spoil everyone’s hard work!
9th Part
Professor Willow icon
  • Great job taking care of those Grunts, TRAINER!

Pikachu Rock Star, Zigzagoon, and Gardevoir

  • Pikachu, Galarian Zigzagoon, and Gardevoir—your band is assembled and ready for a boisterous performance!

All choices

  • Candela has been working closely with the events team to make sure everything is perfect. The staging and decorations are going to blow you away!
  • I believe all we need now is an audience.
  • Why don’t you go spread the word about the show? It’s bound to appeal to people and Pokémon alike!
10th Part
Professor Willow icon
  • Wow, this turnout is incredible, TRAINER!
  • You really have a knack for making friends—the crowd is full of people and Pokémon here to support you!
  • In fact, I’ve been hearing reports of a Mythical Pokémon that’s been spotted nearby. I bet it wants to join the festivities, too!
  • It’s known as the Melody Pokémon, and the melodies it sings have inspired many famous songs.
  • That’s all I’ll share for now—I’m sure that Pokémon will introduce itself if it decides to swing by!
  • All we can do now is sit back and enjoy the music.
11th Part

  • Ah, TRAINER! Just the Trainer I was hoping to see. Have you been enjoying the festival?
  • I was just out on a stroll and witnessed the most incredible sight. Several rings had appeared in the sky, and as I stared up at them, something truly remarkable occurred.
  • Legendary Pokémon began emerging from the rings as if by magic!
  • Naturally, I rushed back to my laboratory and began frantically searching through every book I thought might shed some light on what had happened—but I’ve yet to find anything.
  • I’m going to keep looking, but in the meantime, I could really use your help investigating in the field.
  • We have to find out what’s going on here!
2nd Part
Professor Willow icon
  • Thanks for collecting that information, Trainer. I’m going to send it over to Blanche for analysis. Unfortunately, the rings in the sky have yet to disappear.
  • I did have some luck in my search for an explanation, however. Look here—it’s the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa.
  • Known as the Mischief Pokémon, Hoopa enjoys sending things to faraway places using its rings, which can warp space.
  • That explains why those Legendary Pokémon appeared the way they did. Hoopa uses those rings to move things from place to place—including itself. It won’t be easy to catch.
  • Based on reports from the team leaders, it doesn’t seem like Hoopa is in the area at the moment. Let’s use this time to prepare to catch it, hm?
  • Mischievous though Hoopa may be, you have to admit that its rings are quite fascinating, eh, TRAINER?
  • Moments like this remind me of why I became a Pokémon Professor in the first place. The world of Pokémon is endlessly exciting!
  • For now, why don’t you go challenge some raids with other Trainers and catch some Pokémon? You’ll need your skills at their sharpest to catch Hoopa. Now, let’s GO!

Ultra Unlock[]

Similarly to the previous GO Fest editions and their Ultra Bonus Events, this year there was a Ultra Unlock series of events planned to occur after players complete a number of challenges in Global Challenge Arena.[7]

It was divided into three parts, which featured a series of themed, weekly events:

Print at Home kit[]

A set of items were available for players in the kit

Activities: the trainer could print a maze to complete, a Go Fest logo to color, and decorate some pennant flags (Valor, Mystic, Instinct and GO Rocket).

Decorations: pennant flags (Valor, Mystic, Instinct and GO Rocket), Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Charmander, Eevee, Go Fest logo and trade board.

Papercraft: Pikachu Visor, Gift, Poké Ball and Great Ball to be printed and assemble in a 3d papercraft model.

Tiles: print and arrange tiles to assemble life-size cutouts of Team Leaders Spark, Blanche, and Candela. There’s also a version for Professor Willow

Gallery[]

Trivia[]

  • Because of the "Stay tuned for more details!" phrase and the musical notes in the logo, player community speculated that Meloetta, the Melody Pokémon, would be released in this event. It turns out to be true.
  • This event marks both the twenty-fifth anniversary of Pokémon and the fifth anniversary of Pokémon GO.
  • As part of Google Play’s sponsorship of Pokémon GO Fest 2021 several features were available:
    • Trainers could receive three months of YouTube Premium.
    • From July 12th, 2021, to July 18th, 2021, Google Play subscribers will earn 4× Google Play Points on all purchases made in Pokémon GO.
    • Trainers using Android devices would be eligible for a special Sponsored Gift on Day 1 of Pokémon GO Fest 2021. This bundle included one Incense, one Super Incubator, and 30 Ultra Balls.
