November 2022 Community Day Classic: Dreaming of Dratini was the sixty-first Community Day event, featuring Dratini. It was the third Community Day on the Classic format, that revisits Pokémon that have been featured on past Community Days. Dratini was first featured on the February 2018 Community Day.[1]
A teaser took place after the event, featuring a tie-in for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.

These Pokémon could photobomb five times during the event:
Exclusive move[]
In order to obtain Draco Meteor, Trainers had to evolve Dragonair into Dragonite after the start of event and up to 2 hours after the end of event. Trainers cannot use TMs to obtain the attack.
Field Research event tasks[]
Special Research[]

Dratini Community Day Classic Special Research was available during the event. The Dragonite in this research would know Draco Meteor if it was caught during event hours.

- Hey, TRAINER, great timing! Fancy doing a little investigation?
- All these Ultra Wormholes we’ve encountered lately have got me thinking. Ultra Space is fascinating, sure, but there are places closer to home that still beg to be explored—like the fabled island of Dragonite!
- Have you heard the tale?
- Once, a Dragonite saved a shipwrecked man, taking him to a remote island—a paradise occupied solely by Dragonite. Doesn’t that sound like something, TRAINER?
- Imagine the unique ecosystem that island would have! It’d be a veritable treasure trove for scientific inquiry.
- Questions are already rattling around in my head: what do Dragonite use their horns for? How quickly can they move in water? What kind of Berries do they—
- Whoops. I’m getting ahead of myself. First, we need to do some baseline research on the Pokémon in question.
- We might even find some clues about this Dragonite paradise!
- Let’s start by observing Dratini, which can evolve into Dragonair and then Dragonite, TRAINER!
- Whoa! Look at how many Dratini you’ve caught, TRAINER!
- Did you know that in the past, Dratini was so rarely glimpsed that some called it the “Mirage Pokémon”?
- And yet here you are with a whole host of them. They seem real enough to me!
- You know, I read a report recently that a small colony of Dratini was found living underwater.
- That would suggest that Dratini and its Evolutions like to live in groups.
- And if that’s true...then the island of Dragonite could be real after all! First, though, we should learn more about Dratini’s Evolution, Dragonair.
- Think you can find one, TRAINER?
- What a majestic Dragonair, TRAINER!
- Dragonair’s mystical appearance always leaves me in awe. In fact, this Pokémon is known for its gentle aura.
- Some even call it divine! And for good reason—see the crystalline globes on its head and tail? Dragonair can use them to freely control the weather.
- I bet that’d come in useful if you had, say, an island full of Dragonite that you wanted to keep hidden. Or if you were constantly forgetting your research notes outside on rainy days...
- But that’s a me problem. Next, let’s help Dragonair evolve into the star of today’s studies—Dragonite!
- Fantastic, TRAINER!
- Just like Dratini and Dragonair, Dragonite is an extremely rarely seen Pokémon. How lucky we are that we can study one today!
- Dragonite is known as “the sea incarnate.” Incur the wrath of this normally calm Pokémon at your peril, because it will smash everything to smithereens before it’s satisfied.
- Luckily for us, it’s typically a kindhearted Pokémon. If it spots a drowning person or Pokémon, Dragonite simply must help them—like that shipwrecked man I mentioned earlier today.
- Why don’t we set sail and get looking for that island? Dragonite’ll surely bail us out if things go sideways!
- I’m joking, I’m joking. Thanks for humoring me today, TRAINER.
- Even without weighing anchor, we learned more about Pokémon and found new ways to look at facts we already knew. I’d say that’s time well spent.
- Though to be fair, I’d say that about any time we spend together. Heh. I’ll be in touch again soon, TRAINER!

After Community Day Classic: Dreaming of Dratini ended, an unannounced teaser for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet took place.[2]
PokéStops would randomly turn golden. After spinning a golden PokéStop, Professor Willow would appear with some short dialogue, a ?????? Coin would be added to the Trainer's item bag, and Gimmighoul[3] would start following the Trainer. Golden PokéStops could then continually be spun, which would either give another ?????? Coin or increased amounts of Items from the standard drop table.
Professor Willow and Jacq dialogue[]
- What’s that you’ve got, TRAINER? Ah! Yes, I see—this appears to be a very old coin. I picked one up myself, actually. There’s something mysterious about them...
- Jacq: Professor Willow? Can you hear me?
- Oh—hello, Jacq! It was great hearing you speak at the World Pokémon Ecological Society conference the other day!
- Jacq: Thank you. Your lecture, "Strolling through the World of Pokémon," was fantastic, too!
- TRAINER, this is Jacq. He teaches biology at an academy in the Paldea region.
- Jacq: It’s very nice to meet you! Hm? Oh! That coin...!
- Hm? Do you know something about this, Jacq?
- Jacq: I think I might... I know we were supposed to discuss Diglett, but can I get a rain check? This is something that I want to look into!
- Of course! I’ll get right on researching this with TRAINER. And I’ll be sure to take a video of the coin and share it with you soon.
- Jacq: Thank you! I’ll see you later, then. Happy exploring!
- All right, TRAINER—let’s get cracking! I’d like to find a few more coins, so why don’t we start looking around?
- These coins are a little suspicious, but I can’t help feeling excited all the same! I believe a thorough investigation is in order.
- We’ve got a lot of ground to cover—so I’ll start my search over there! Are you ready? Then let’s GO!

Trivia[]
- Gimmighoul could not be caught; tapping on it would instead produce a small speech bubble of it asking for ?????? Coins.
- This was the second time a brand-new Pokémon was revealed through Pokémon GO, the first time being Meltan during September 2018 Community Day.
- ?????? Coins have an inventory limit of 100.
- After the teaser event ended, golden PokéStops would still appear, but with much lower frequency.
