Articuno is an Ice, Flying-type Legendary Pokémon from the Kanto region. It doesn't evolve into or from any other Pokémon. Along with Zapdos and Moltres, it is a member of the Legendary Bird Trio.

Articuno is a Legendary Pokémon that can control ice. The flapping of its wings chills the air. As a result, it is said that when this Pokémon flies, snow will fall.

  • As a former 5th tier Raid Boss, Articuno's CP was 40,165. Its maximum capture CP in Bonus Challenge was 1,743 and 2,179 when encountered Pokémon was boosted by weather.
    • Articuno was originally available as a Raid Boss from July 22nd, 2017 until July 30th, 2017.[1][2]
    • Articuno was available from Raid Battles again from August 12th, 2017 to August 31st, 2017.[3]
    • Articuno was available again in a limited three hours period on Articuno Day on July 7th, 2018.[4]
    • Articuno was available again during the Ultra Bonus Event 2018 from September 13th to September 20th, 2018.[5]
  • During June, December 2018 to February 2019 and November to December 2019, Articuno was the reward of the Research Breakthrough once seven stamps had been obtained with a 1,308 of maximal CP.
  • Shiny form of Articuno was released on Articuno Day.
  • Articuno is the mascot Pokémon of Team Mystic.
  • Before its official release, Articuno had been given to a trainer in Ohio, but Niantic removed it the day after.[6]
